10 Bellevue Company advice. 10 Bellevue on speeches and presentations. -10 Bellevue
10 Bellevue conducts many presentations throughout the year. The 10 Bellevue Company shares some tips:
Do you have a speech coming up or maybe even just a class presentation? Well to be sure that your audience is engaged, be aware of a few key points: Preparation, Content, Mood, Delivery, and Closing.
10 Bellevue Company advice on preparation:
Preparation: You can't be too prepared. I've given speeches where all I had to do was introduce a couple of people. I knew these people well, and their introduction didn't have to be anything spectacular. So, I thought, "Ok, this will be a breeze. I know these guys, their history and accolades....no problem." Wow, was I wrong. I blew it. I had the whole crowd laughing, but not because I was telling a funny joke. They were laughing at my mannerisms and use of almost barbaric dialogue because I couldn't think of the words! So, no matter how little or big the speech is to you, be prepared. All-in-all, the 10 Bellevue Company also suggests that you prepare, prepare, prepare.
Write it out...fully. Imagine what you are going to say, and say it to your notepad. Then, after you write it all down, go through and make changes if you want. The 10 Bellevue Company suggests that the speech should have a nice flow and people should be able to follow your thought process from one idea to another. If you're anything like me, you'll revise this thing 10 times or so. Write down anything you want to add in the white spaces on the side of your paper as you are editing. Read through it again and take out whatever seems to "not fit." Then....
Write it out again, and again, and again. You know when you are ready for your speech if you are able to write it out almost word for word (mainly point - to - point) and it all makes sense.
10 Bellevue Company advice on content:
Content: Your content should be concise, accurate, and relevant to the audience. I like to make analogies along the way that the audience will understand so that they are more on the same page, instead of dry information just handed to them. 10 Bellevue Company advice points to descriptive analogies to illustrate your point. The more descriptive your analogies or stories, the more the audience will picture themselves in that story. You can really draw them in with stories and analogies.
10 Bellevue Company advice points to your speech having some sort of thought-provoking content. Ask a question or two where the answer is not common knowledge. Then answer this question (be sure that it's relevant to your topic) and flow into your next point. This will give your audience a sense that you are giving them information that was previously unknown to them. Will they want more? Absolutely.
10 Bellevue Company advice on mood:
Mood: It all depends on two things. Your audience, and your topic. If your audience is a group of doctors and your topic is some new research that was recently uncovered, 10 Bellevue Company advice suggests that you may not want to tell a bunch of jokes and keep the mood light. However, if your audience is a group of 8-year-olds and your topic is proper hygiene, you should probably make that one pretty fun to keep them engaged. Begin with the end in mind, and know your audience.
10 Bellevue Company advice on delivery:
Delivery: No one likes speeches when the person giving the speech is just reading from their note cards i.e. not looking at them. So, be sure to make frequent eye contact. You should have 3 or 4 main areas of the audience that you look to. The 10 Bellevue company says that these areas should be the far right, the far left, center, and the back of the room should be your focal points. When delivering your speech pick someone to look at in each of these four areas, and rotate through these people every 5 - 8 seconds. Don't just speak to the back of the room or to the ceiling or a random object. 10 Bellevue Company advice always suggests getting the audience involved. When someone is looking directly at me when they are giving a speech, I am at full attention. People around me start looking at the speaker more as well. So, in essence, you get sort of a "blast radius" effect by looking at certain members of the audience.
Sloooowwww down. People speak pretty quickly in everyday communication as it is. Just think of how many times people ask you to repeat yourself because they couldn't hear you, weren't paying attention, or you were speaking to fast. When you are giving your speech, slow it way down. Think of how slowly the President speaks when giving addresses, not the president of the 10 Bellevue company, but THE President of the U.S. Do that. Slow down. It may seem too slow for you as you are speaking, but it's all in your head. The more you know your content (and you Should!), the faster you will be able to rattle it all off. Don't do that. Speak very slowly so others can soak it all in.
10 Bellevue Company advice on closing:
Lastly, you've got to be a closer. The 10 Bellevue company is a sales and marketing company and emphasizes closing the deal. However you decide to do this, it must be done. Don't just say, "Well, that's my speech. Thank you all for coming out and listening to me." At the end of anything, people need to know what they have just heard or seen. So, wrap it up for them. 10 Bellevue company suggests summarizing your points and putt an "action" phrase in your closing if your speech calls for it. For instance, if you are speaking on a "how-to lose weight" subject, you'll want to say something to the effect of: "Implement these 4 steps today, and you will see your health improve seemingly overnight!" Then a simple "Thank you" is in order, and your off to the races!

Hey good stuff! Keep up the posts!
Wonderful information. As a senior in high school my task, for our German class movie grand opening, was to introduce our home made movie,"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" with German subtitles. Somewhere during the filming I mixed up "dwarfs" with "dwelfs". Everyone started saying "dwelf" Yep you guess it. I said dwelf 3 times before I realized why everyone was roaring. I learn to listen to myself that night. Great hub, write more
